What is CASHlib and how do you use a voucher safely?

SarahPrepaid & travel editor

CASHlib is a prepaid payment voucher. You buy a fixed value, receive a 16-digit code and enter it at an online checkout that genuinely accepts CASHlib. You do not need to share card details with that merchant, but the code itself must be protected like cash.

Check before you buy

Open the website where you intend to pay and make sure CASHlib appears in its checkout. A voucher is not a general bank card and only works with participating merchants. Choose the correct amount on the CASHlib Voucher page after making that check.

The official FAQ says vouchers have a limited validity period. Read the use-by information as soon as the code arrives. Check a remaining balance only through CASHlib's own tools.

Paying with the code

  1. Select CASHlib at the participating checkout.
  2. Enter the 16-digit PIN.
  3. Review the amount before confirming.
  4. Keep the code private if a balance remains.

> Sarah's tip: never send the PIN to a caller, seller or supposed support agent. Anyone with a usable code may be able to spend its value.

If the payment fails

Check the PIN carefully, the available balance, validity and whether the merchant is officially connected. Do not repeatedly paste the code into unknown “checker” sites. Contact CASHlib or the retailer using their official contact details.
